Joseph MillerPresident/ Principal Air Quality SpecialistJoe Miller founded Mountain Air Consulting in 2001 and brings over twenty years of professional
experience to the firm. He founded an air quality division for an established environmental consulting
firm and served as an air quality meteorologist and permitting specialist for two others, where he was responsible for Title
V and PSD permitting as well as development, training, and supervision of dispersion modeling services.
Joe has managed air permitting projects in several states,
including Colorado, Wyoming, Montana, New Mexico, Kansas, Utah, Arizona, Nevada and Texas, with extensive experience permitting
sources located in Indian country. He has solid professional relationships with several State agencies, the US Environmental
Protection Agency (USEPA), the Bureau of Land Management (BLM), the US Forest Service (USFS), the National Park Service (NPS)
and has extensive experience in the oil & gas production, cogeneration, and mining sectors. Joe’s educational background left him uniquely prepared for the air quality field due to his understanding
of atmospheric processes and air pollution transport. He graduated with a Master’s degree in atmospheric science and
also holds a degree in mathematics. His graduate work as a research and teaching assistant led to the development
of strong technical and problem-solving skills and the ability to effectively communicate complex issues. Joe is the former Treasurer of the Air & Waste Management Association’s
Rocky Mountain States Section (AWMA-RMSS) and a member of the American Meteorological Society (AMS). You can
